This Giving Tuesday, give HOPE

Happy Giving Tuesday!

This is a day that comes up every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Of course, it's always a great day to give back, in whatever way you can.

We know that there are so many different ways you can give your time and/or money. But this year, at NAMI Washington County, we want to give HOPE.

Hope that when you or someone you love - or even someone you’ve never met - needs support, they can find it. Hope that when you’re struggling with your mental health, things CAN get better. There WILL be better days ahead. Hope that you can find people who make you feel less alone.

Here are 4 ways you can give hope today with NAMI Washington County - read more about each below:

  1. Become a NAMI member

  2. Volunteer with NAMI

  3. Make a donation

  4. Share your story

Become a NAMI member - or gift a membership to a friend!

By becoming a member, you add power to our mission to improve the lives of people affected by mental illness. Membership dues help NAMI provide free programs and support groups, advocate at all levels of government for access to treatment and services, fight stigma through information and awareness and provide hope to hundreds of thousands of people and families affected by mental health conditions.

By becoming a member of NAMI Washington County, you also become a member of NAMI Oregon and NAMI national! Or you can sign up a friend for their own membership - it's a great way to show someone you care.

Perks of joining NAMI Washington County:

  • Receive one of our window clings (pictured here)!

  • Access to our building library (only members can check out books to take home!)

  • Get to attend our annual meeting

  • Discounts to local businesses who support NAMI

Plus, you get these benefits through NAMI national:

Do you want to use your own mental health story to inspire others, and spread awareness of what it's like to live with a mental health condition?

We are always looking for people to share their stories, whether that's at an in-person event, in a blog post, on our social media platforms, or anywhere else.

Because your story matters. You matter. And sharing your story will let others know that they are not alone.

We would love to work with you to figure out a way to tell your story that feels good to you, and will do good in the world.

If you're interested in sharing your story, just send an email to cassidy@washconami.org. Cassidy is our Director of Community Outreach, and she would love to talk to you!

Whether you are joining us as a NAMI member, making a donation, or just reading this email - THANK YOU.

We are so grateful for you, your support, your advocacy, and everything else you bring to the world. We're just grateful that you are in the world! We know it's not easy to make it through each day - but you're doing it!

And don't forget - you are not alone, and we're here for you. You can always come visit us, talk to a Peer Support Specialist, create something in our art room, or attend a support group.

Our building is open in Aloha, from 10am-4pm Monday-Friday.

See you soon!
